Frequently Asked Questions
Is your kitchen registered?
Yes, Sweetest Jubilee operates out of a home-based kitchen that is registered with Banyule City Council under the Food Act 1984. As part of the requirements of our registration, we have obtained a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and adhere to a Food Safety Program in our production process.
Do you offer consultations and tastings?
As a small home-based business, we have found that the needs of our busy clients are best met through email communication and phone consultations, with tastings for wedding cakes accommodated via our popular sample box service. Sample boxes are dispatched every 2-3 months and are subject to availability. Please enquire for our next available dates. Our sample boxes consist of six of our popular cake flavours and are available for pick up from our kitchen for you to sample in the comfort of your home. Flavours are popular options chosen by Sweetest Jubilee, although we will endeavor to accommodate any special requests if required. A fee of $25 is charged per box and is redeemable against your order value should you proceed with an order.
Do you make cakes for special diets?
Unfortunately, our cakes cannot be certified allergen free as our kitchen does not separate processes or equipment. Presently all of our standard recipes contain wheat, eggs and dairy, however we can offer egg substitute and flourless options in some recipes if required (these may incur an additional charge). Apart from macarons, our recipes do not contain nuts, however we do use nuts in our kitchen and cannot guarantee against cross contamination.
What do you mean by portion sizes for a cake?
The size of your cake will be determined by the number of guests you wish to serve, and what size portions you intend on serving. If you are already having dessert as part of your menu, or are serving the cake in addition to other sweet treats, coffee size portions will be sufficient. Alternatively, if you intend on serving your cake as the dessert, you will need a cake that caters for dessert size portions. Coffee size portions are 1 inch x 1 inch x 4 inches (2.5cm x 2.5cm x 10cm) while dessert size portions are 1 inch x 2 inches x 4 inches (2.5cm x 5cm x 10cm).
Can I have my cake decorated with fresh flowers?
If you would like to have your wedding cake decorated with fresh flowers, we recommend that you order these through your wedding florist to ensure continuity for your event. Our wedding cake delivery and set-up service includes decorating your cake with pre-arranged flowers at your venue upon set-up. We are happy to liaise with your florist in the lead up to your wedding day to confirm cake dimensions, floral arrangements and set-up of the cake on the day. Please note: we require flowers to be wired or arranged such that stems and flowers that are not suitable for consumption do not come into direct contact with the cake itself upon decoration. We cannot be liable for any contamination to your wedding cake that may arise from the misuse of fresh flowers.
For cakes other than wedding cakes, we are happy to engage the services of our preferred florists to provide floral arrangements to decorate your cake. Accordingly, we will provide an itemised cost for the floral arrangement in your quotation.
Can I make changes to my order?
If you need to make changes to your confirmed order, please let us know as soon as possible. If the alteration affects the cost, or if the preparatory work on your cake has already commenced, Sweetest Jubilee reserves the right to increase the quoted fee accordingly. We unfortunately may not be able to accommodate changes made within two weeks of the event date.
Do you have cake stands available for hire?
We have several cake stands available for hire, along with lolly jars, crates and other dessert table platters and props. Please let us know if you require these items and we will send through a price list along with our terms and conditions of hire.
How should my cake be stored?
Storage is subject to the individual item and we will advise upon pick-up the most appropriate form of storage for your cake or sweet treats.
Do you have a delivery service?
We offer a full delivery and set-up service for wedding cakes. We are based in north-eastern metropolitan Melbourne and delivery is calculated on distance to your venue and the time involved in set-up.
For other custom orders, pick-up is available from our kitchen. If you require delivery of your cake or sweet treats, please let us know and we will provide a quote accordingly.
